Bhutan Visa

Obtaining a visa to visit Bhutan is an essential step in planning your journey to this enchanting Himalayan kingdom. To enter Bhutan, all visitors, except for citizens of India, Maldives, and Bangladesh, are required to obtain a visa.

All visitors, except for Indian nationals, are required to obtain a visa to enter Bhutan. The Bhutan Tourism Board (BTB) can assist in processing your visa prior to your departure, and your visa will be endorsed upon arrival.

While visitors from Bangladesh and the Maldives can obtain their visas on arrival at the port of entry, it is recommended to apply in advance to reduce wait times. Visitors from India also need a permit, which can be obtained on arrival or applied for in advance.

Certain nationalities, such as Switzerland and Thailand (diplomatic or government-official passport holders), are eligible for a visa on arrival at the port of entry.

For Indian visitors, a permit is required, and they must hold either an Indian passport or an Indian voter ID card. Indian nationals under the age of 18 may enter with a birth certificate or passport and must be accompanied by a legal guardian.
